2008 CM Tournament, Part I

Lord Zando has called on all warriors within his nation of Garwara (CM) and allies of which, to enter a tournament at the Ashia complex and arena. Each fighter can use their own skills, with any weapon of their choice if desired to compete. The winner will be named as a "Warrior of the Year" and presented a huge reward of gold and a powerful position in the CM nation. Many have come for all around to join.

Two weeks have passed since Lord Zando announcement regarding the tournament and many fighters have assembled themselves at the Ashia complex/arena. First to enter is Master Ninja Yamada. Yamada registers, then leaves for training, refusing to train in the Ashia complex with the others. Next to enter is huge swordsman named Tagisaki. He is mostly silent and stated he is a "sumo swordsman". Next to enter is Yamashidi. Angered with his rival Yamada taking his once high position within the Lord's warrior ranks, he enters to prove that Yamada 's skills are inferior to his and hopes to prove that to a large audience. Demon Devin soon arrived from places unknown and registers. She is motivated by lust of gold and to prove herself as a fighter of great skill. Next to enter is Amhenti Ra, known for his killing of many of Jill Matsmoti's Black Ninja clansmen. Dragon Kong, a kung fu expert, known for his arrogance arrives and signs, laughing at the names preceding his. Ianii, a warrior woman from the Crimson Eye Syndicate signs next. John Toshi, a commando in the CM military, known for his machete skills signs next. The following day a Capoeira champion named E'Man Combo signs. He is soon followed by a strange warrior naming himself the Dragon Prince Zeia. This man has huge bladed weapons on his arms and stated he is from the southern tropics from a powerful local clan. Arata, a spider ninja sign next. Kurokawa and Zhou Xiong from the clan known as the Seven of Dark Tomorrow arrive and sign together. Blood Moon, a female swordfighter once romantically linked to Tang Fu Lii surprises many CM officials by signing. Rover Maximus, a huge executioner, hammer warrior signs next. Lastly, Prowler, a Cat Clan fighter signs.

All of the sixteen sign and are given rooms within the complex to stay while waiting for the events to being. A training facility is located on the grounds of the complex and all are invited to use it. All of the fighters keep to themselves and eye each other up, knowing they will have to fight one-another within days. Lord Zando has ordered all of the contestants to be fed well and given generous living quarters while staying in Ashia.

Kurokawa and Zhou Xiong walk around the arena ground and discuss the events that will unfold within a few days time. Kurokawa says, "My father (Taketoshi) expect me to place at the top of the fighters here. This is my chance to outshine that rotten beast of a man and show that I am his equal and soon his killer. I will be the master of that clan before too long." Zhou Xiong, his clan mate says, "Young master, don't let your hatred of your father cloud your mind. Your father sent me to challenge you if need be. He wants you to be the best, a killing machine. His honor is to be killed by your hand when you have achieved that level of mastery of your skills." Kurokawa shouts, "If I have to take your head, it would be an honor my sword brother. I have more respect for you then any of these fools I will have to battle against. I shouldn't have too much trouble from allot of these contenders. Many are ninja, they lack honor, a real disgraceful group."

Dragon Kong walks around the complex with a toothpick in his mouth with an arrogant swagger in his step. He come across Yamashidi and says, "Ninja monk, go back to your filthy temple you beggars." Yamashidi face reddens with anger but keeps to his business. Dragon Kong soon comes to Rover Maximus. Dragon says with is head cocked back, "Typical meathead. All muscles and no brain. You guys are a real laugh." Rover shouts, "You want to start something now little man?" CM guards try to ease the tensions, Dragon Kong replies, "Faggot, meatheads." Spitting his toothpick out. Dragon Kong is asked to go to another area. Several minutes later Dragon Kong comes across Prowler. Kong sings to himself and says while looking at Prowler, "Cat clan, meow!" Prowler turns and says, "What? Care to say that again?" Dragon laughs and says, Meow, meow, meow, pussy!" Prowler stands and says, "I can't wait to test your skills Dragon!" Kong starts to walk away and as Prowler turns, Dragon slaps the back of Prowler's head. Prowler and Kong begin to fight on the training room floor. CM guards arrive and break up the fight. Kong is escorted away to his quarters. Prowler shouts, "You arrogant little bastard. I pray we meet on the arena floor."

Tang Fu Lii has learned of Blood Moon's presents at the Ashia complex. He dresses in disguise and head to the Ashia complex. Knowing of Tang's feelings regarding Blood Moon and interested in seeing her friend Demon Devin, JC Fox tags along in disguise as well. JC says, "Tangy, why do you think Blood Moon came here? She just vanished from your life without a trace and BAM, she's here, pitted against some real meanies." Tang says, "I don't know. I really don't know. We were as one for so long and then she left me without saying a word. She is such a mystery." JC walking fast to keep up with Tang as he walks around the complex saying, "You know the Lord doesn't want you here after hearing of Blood Moon's presents. My sisters have told me I should stay away too. I have to go home tonight." Tang says, "Then why did you come?" JC says, "My friend Demon Devin is here. She is in great danger like your Blood Moon. Some of these 'nasties' could do great harm to them. Devin has had such a rough life and has always needed a friend." Tang says, "Well you are a great friend sweet pea, but if she joined this competition, there is no way out for her....or Blood Moon. Each could die on the field below. Something has brought them here and there is nothing we can do but watch and hope they come out alive and in one piece." JC cries, "Awwww, feeling powerless isn't fun. No fun at all. Are you going to talk to Moonie?" Tang looking over the arena floor from above and says, "I don't know. She may have changed. She may be a different person after all this time apart. I really don't know."

While Kurokawa walks around the training area, he sees Demon Devin practicing her sword skills. Kurokawa walks over and says, "You have a great command of that katana girl. Who was your master?" Devin stops and looks over at Kurokawa. She looks him over and says, "I have no true master. Many have taught me from my past. My father was Demon Zeus, but I learned little from him before his death." Kurokawa asks, "Was he a great swordsman? Did he die at the end of the blade?" Devin says, "No, he drowned, like me unwanted by his clan and left for dead. His swordsmanship was known to be quite good." Kurokawa looks over Devin as her green eyes lock with his. Devin notes the many scars over his face, chest, arm, and neck. Kurokawa looks over Devin, noting her wild red/orange hair, her amble cleavage, and as she moves with sword how her pants fit snuggly with her shapely butt. Kurokawa watches as Devin swings her sword around a straw dummy. Kurokawa says, "What makes a girl want to compete with men here? Are you of a clan, required to fight for your honor?" Devin says while still practicing, "No clan will have me. I have few friends. Honor of any sort has never been with me." Devin stops her practice and looks to Kurokawa and continues, "I have been scorned since birth, an outcast of my clan, my own family. The only person in my life I have ever loved was my father. I seem to rub everyone the wrong way within a short time." Kurokawa finds some kinship with Devin's past and says, "I know of such pain in life. Unlike you my father is the man I most hate, my master, the man who taught me everything, but the man I have to kill to be a man. If I don't return at least finishing in the top tier of competitors, I will be considered a failure. My father said if I fail the first fight, I should kill myself because that would stain out clan and his legacy." Devin looks to Kurokawa and says, "Let's hope we don't meet in combat on the arena floor." Kurokawa replies, "I would love to taste your sword on the field, but only as a last resort." Kurokawa looks into Devin's eyes for a minute and turns and walks away.

Tang and JC overhear Zhou Xiong speaking of how impressed Kurokawa was with Demon Devin. JC asks Tang, "Tangy, I know Kurokawa is the son of Taketoshi, a master with the blade, but why were they, he and Zhou sent here? Are they a serious danger to Devin?" Tang looks to JC and says, "Kurokawa is the son of Master Taketoshi, a master swordsman who is the clan leader of a group of wondering mercenaries. Kurokawa was brought up under very violent, harsh circumstances. His father Taketoshi is from a line of Kogasuma master swordsman who have a code of high honor and no mercy. Taketoshi's father Hidwara was a war hero for the Kogasuma. He had two sons, Takesumi and Taketoshi. Hidwara rough trained his sons. He said if his sons couldn't kill him for the honor of this clan they were not worthy of their place and even their lives. When Takesumi was fourteen he mistakenly challenged his father to a dual. Hidwara butchered his son with no mercy. Taketoshi was nine at this time and saw the entire killing. When Taketoshi was seventeen he assassinated his father while he was writing to the emperor. Hidwara's clan shunned Taketoshi for killing him in such a manor. Angered, Taketoshi soon killed the entire clan of eighteen for not showing him their respect and loyalty. He fled the Kogasuma and has wondered all his life. He taught Kurokawa in the same violent and harsh training that he had learned. No mercy, total obedience, kill or be killed. I've heard some real horrifying tales of Kurokawa's savagery. He is being made, by Taketoshi, into a killing machine. A man of such danger, Taketoshi's crowning achievement. The harsher Taketoshi treats Kurokawa, the more punishment he endures, the more Kurokawa grows in strength and the more his humanity is lost. Devin should keep away or else she will either be his victim or turn into one of his crew of maruading sword fighting thugs." JC cries, "What can I do to help Dev?" Tang says, "Nothing! She will have to fight for her life. She has allot to tend to with this group. She may die at Yamada's sword. How would you feel if they happened?" JC looks at Tang and says, "Oh no, that would be so unfair, so......wrong."

The next morning the sixteen are gathered at the arena and the first matches are chosen and places for all that arrive to see. Yamada looks over the group that he will fight. He looks over at Yamashidi and then to Amhenti Ra. Yamada's card is placed and to his dismay, he is to fight Ianii. A silent Ianii clinches her fist and beams an cold glare at him. E'Man Combo is to fight Yamashidi. Rover Maximus is to engage Dragon Prince Zeia. Kurokawa finds out he will fight Blood Moon. Kurokawa find the pressure build as he will fight a woman....a loss to her would be his suicide. Demon Devin is to fight Zhou Xiong. Prowler is to fight Dragon Kong. They both eye each other up with glee. John Toshi is to fight Sumo Swordsman Tagisaki. Arata is to fight the Amhenti Ra. The chief official tells the competitors to return at six in the evening as the events shall begin.

JC and Tang wince from some of the match-ups. Tang is horrified with Blood Moon engaging Kurokawa. He says, "she has to fight with such savagery to beat him. I don't know if it's in her to take on someone of that level. She has a dark, horrid past. This is going to be bad, I know." JC says with sadness in her eyes, "If only I had taught her some of my skills." Tang says, "No! Regardless she put herself in this situation. We can only watch and hope for the best."
