Juno's Hope

Continues from Time of the Dragons......

Royal Dragon begins his second week in captivity with a visit from Diablo Batista and Zen Hojo. Juno thinks to himself as they walk toward him, "These guys haven't gotten what they wanted from the Emperor yet. They're going to torture me as a punishment for the Emperor's refusal to give in." Hojo says, "The Emperor will pay the ransom but we have decided to ask for more since he was so willing to pay. Write another letter asking for 200,000 tales more. Then you will be released." Batista shouts, "That is after we get the additional gold." Juno says, "I can't believe he's going to pay you. You will get 500,000 tales of gold already, it's that enough? I have done as you asked." Batista roars, "You have no voice here little man. You will write that note by sundown or else we'll have you sent to the torture chamber." Batista and Hojo turn and leave. Juno thinks, "These guys are so greedy. If they'd just take the money and let me go they would have succeeded. Emperor Sanamoto will only get even more angry with this. I'm sure Rex knows of my plight by now." Juno sits back on his cot and thinks to himself.

As Rex Peterson, Black Dragon Jamesu, Princess Meiko, Hasamatshu, and Tia Hasamisha travel to rescue Royal Dragon, Jamesu questions Rex. Jamesu asks, "I still have an uneasy feeling going into the CM on this mission simply on a note from Melinda Fox. This could be a trap" Rex replies, "I have to trust her again. I really have very few options now. We are a strong group so if we are ambushed, we should do well." Jamesu adds, "If she did set us up, I'll make her regret it. Do you think Meiko is of enough skill to help us?" Rex answers, "I tested her this morning and her skills are very good. She is strong and has the focus needed on this mission. I must add that I have sworn her, and the rest of my clan, to secrecy about her abilities. You see, the royal house isn't too keen on having ninjas in their courts. Certain members could give her trouble if they knew." Jamesu says, "Zuki Wu, I know. He is the meanest little twerp I've ever seen. He insults me at every chance he gets. I can't believe the emperor takes his advice at all." Soon the group arrive at the mill and prepare their assault.

At midnight, Diablo Batista, Yakenzo, and Yamada enter Royal Dragon's cell. Batista shouts, "Is that letter written? Your time is up." Juno looks at the group and says, "Torture me if you must but I will not ask anything of my emperor or my country." Yamada say, "Beat him. He'll pay for his stubbornness." Batista walks to him and hisses, "You are a fool. You better write that letter or else your emperor will be heartbroken." Juno says, "I think you're slime. You're nothing but thugs. I think it's time you see why they call me Royal Dragon." As Batista grabs Juno, Juno delivers a series of chops to Batista's head and throat. Batista staggers and Juno kicks Yakenzo in the groin. Yamada exits the cell and Batista grabs Juno's ankle while trying to flee. Juno kicks Batista's chest and face while belting out a fierce roar. Yakenzo remains doubled over on the cell's floor. As Juno exits the cell, Blaze, Yamada, and Shadow Tonata attack him. They wrestle him to the ground. Juno shoves Yamada off of his chest with great power as he roars with anger. Tonata slashes Juno's chest with is knuckled blades. Juno becomes outraged and punches Tonata right square in the face. Blaze hits Juno over the head with a steel pipe from the mill's plumbing system. Juno buckles over but continues to swings at on comers. Yamada shouts, "Grab him. He'll pay for this." Batista comes lumbering out of the cell and grabs Juno. He grabs Juno's shoulders and forces him to the ground. Before Juno can kick or punch Batista, Yamada and Yakenzo grabbed his legs. Juno shouts, "You all fight like common criminals. None of you have any honor." Batista snorts, "Young noble ninja, you have much to learn in this world about honor. Don't give us the speeches, no one here cares." Juno is dragged to a torture chamber.

As Juno is being placed in the torture chamber, Blood Moon and Zen Hojo are confronted by Rex Peterson and Black Dragon. Hojo says to Rex and Jamesu as they walk toward them, "How did you find our location. You better have the gold with you or else Sanamoto will have more ransoms to answers." Hojo laughs as Blood Moon whistles for Yamada and Batista. Rex says, "Give us Royal Dragon and no one will get hurt. We will not be giving you any gold." Jamesu adds, "Juno better not be hurt or else these walls will be stained with your blood." Batista appears and says, "I hear we have a few tough guys here. Rex Peterson, and I guess you are the Black Dragon. Good, you will join Royal Dragon in the torture chamber." Jamesu erupts with rage and he and Rex attack the Shockers. Blood Moon swings her swords at Rex but he blocks her swings and kicks her legs out from under her. Jamesu gives Batista a flying drop kick and Batista falls to the ground. Hojo is tackled by Rex. As the fight continues, Yakenzo and Blaze appear. They fight Jamesu as Blood Moon, Batista and Hojo fight Rex.

In the torture chamber, Yamada and Shadow Tonata question Royal Dragon. Royal Dragon is chained to a steel chair in a dark, empty room with little light. Yamada pulls Juno's mask off and say, "You are just a kid. You better do as we say or else you're in for some pain." Tonata puts his bladed knuckles to Juno's face and says, "I'll take pleasure in slicing your face off boy." As Tonata starts to cut Juno's face, Yamada shouts, "Stop! I give the orders here. Don't cut him like that!" Tonata turns and hisses, "You are irrelevant you fool. Our time has come. Just be thankful that Batista likes you." Juno watches as Yamada and Tonata quarrel, his cheek slightly cut. Tonata says, "I know you gave Melinda Fox the location of this place. Only you would have given her the information." Yamada says with anger, "How did you know it wasn't Blood Moon or Batista?" Tonata laughs, "Blood Moon is weak, I admit, but she has been here all week. Diablo wouldn't help her." Yamada says, "Who cares." Tonata shouts, "You idiot, Rex and Jamesu are here. Didn't you hear that whistle?! You tipped them off. You may have blow this whole mission you ass!" Juno becomes excited as he hears the news of Rex and Jamesu's presence. Tonata turns to Juno and says, "You'll have to die now young man. We will soon have two new hostages.I'm going to slice your face, layer by layer." He looks at Yamada and says, "Just remember, Pee Wee or those precious Fox sisters could be here next." Tonata laughs as he points his blades into Juno's chest. Yamada looks dumbfounded from the comment for a second and looks over at Juno. They look at each other and suddenly Yamada kicks Tonata's hands away from Juno. Before Tonata can strike, Yamada delivers a knee to Tonata's face. Tonata falls to the ground. Yamada kicks him several more times. As Tonata lays disoriented, Yamada turns to Juno and says, "Some of these guys are real monsters. I wasn't trained to kill or torture people in cold blood like this. I will not mutilate a kid." Juno asks, "What do you mean?" Yamada answers, "I thought we were going to rough you up a bit. Tonata is a sadistic bastard. He loves to torture people. I have no major issues with you. Hojo, Blaze, and Tonata insisted on ambushing you. I can't lower myself to disfigure or torture you." Yamada tosses Juno his mask back and unshackles him. Juno says, "Your Shockers will be very angry with you." Yamada says, "Some will, other will not. The CLG are to blame. Tonata, Hojo, and Blaze are their chief informers. This group will be finished soon. Get out of here and join your brother. I would like to fight Rex but I have to get out of here." Juno runs from the chamber as Yamada gives Tonata a last kick.

Zen Hojo, Blaze, and Blood Moon fight Rex while Yakenzo and Batista fight Jamesu, Juno appears. Hojo shouts, "How did he get out? Get him!" As Hojo shouts, Hasmatshu, Tia Hasamisha and Princess Meiko enter the mill and attack the Shockers. Hojo fights Jamesu, Yakenzo fights Hasamatshu. Blood Moon fights Tia, Rex fights Blaze and Juno and Meiko fight Batista. A lengthy fight continues for twenty minutes. The Shockers are slowly worn down by the Dragon/Rex clan. Tonata appears and shouts to Batista, "Your friend Yamada is to blame for this. You are unfit to rule you muscle bound fool." Batista shouts, "Help fight you worm!" Juno runs to Tonata and delivers a fury of punches and knocks him down a flight of stairs. Jamesu tosses Hojo down the stairs too and grabs the hand of his brother with joy. Rex tosses a smoke bomb into Blaze's face and kicks him over the railing. Batista picks up Meiko and says, "Who is this pretty little fighter?" Jamesu says while running toward him, "She is Princess Dragon Meiko!" Jamesu, Juno, and Meiko kick and chop Batista until he collapses and tumbles down the stair case. Blood Moon then flees with Yakenzo.

The group looks at one another. Rex says, "Well I think we did it. Let's get out of here." The group runs out of the mill. As they take off down the trail way, Juno greets Hasamatshu, Tia, and Rex. He then looks with amazement at Meiko and says, "I never thought you would fight again. You were amazing sister. Batista couldn't match both of us. I can't believe it." Rex says, "She is now a full Dragon." Meiko says, "I'm so grateful we were able to rescue you brother." Jamesu says, "This horrible event actually had one good outcome in that it united the Dragon family. Our father would be honored to see his children fighting together and honoring his ideals." Juno and Meiko nod with agreement. Rex looks into the moonlit sky and sees a figure's silhouette on the top of a nearby ridge. He think to himself, "I see my message was correct. My trust was not misplaced."

The Shockers assemble at the CM base's headquarters. Yamada and the CLG are present. Guyers asks, "What did you think you were doing by kidnapping a Kogasuma Royal? We need to keep peace with them now. Who's behind this?" Zen Hojo shouts, "Yamada and Batista are to blame. They wanted to ransom Royal Dragon off and pocket the gold." Batista roars, "You lying sack of s***! You and Tonata planned this and Yamada and I put the plan into action. You would stab anyone in the back." Tonata laughs and says, "I think it's time the Shockers 'drop' the members that haven't carried their weight. Batista has lead poorly, Blood Moon is too spacey, and Yakenzo is to overly angry and I wish to see them go." Hojo and Blaze nods with acceptance. Yamada shouts, "Who gave you the power to issue this?" Adams says, "Enough, I agree the Shockers are too big and a smaller force may be needed. I will suspend Batista, Blood Moon, and Yakenzo for a month. The temporary Shocker leader will be Blaze." Guyers and Hammerstein nod and ask them to leave. As Batista and Yamada exit, Yamada says, "Hojo, Blaze and Tonata have really played this out well. They'll crew up." Batista adds, "They all betrayed me. They will be very sorry they messed with me this time. Adams and Guyers don't know how poorly they fought. They'll learn the hard way. I vow they'll pay for crossing us."
